The old COACHFORD DRAMATIC SOCIETY served the community well during the post war years, indeed right up to the 1970s.

Concerts, one act and full length plays were held in the old Coachford Hall regularly, and they also travelled to nearby venues - which must have been difficult at the time. They also opened the very first North Cork Drama Festival (1953), adjudicator Bryan McMahon.
Here is a list - probably only partial - of their full length plays. Would love to fine out more.

1945 Conn the Shaughraun
1946 The Secret of Lourdes
1948 Three Act Play (No Title given!)
1949 The Righteous are Bold. (Children not admitted)
1950 The Money Doesn't Matter
1952 Autumn Fire
1953 They Got what they Wanted.
1954 NANO.
1955 Rose of Battle by Rev Fr Gleeson and Richard Forbes
1956 Possibly two Drama Groups in parish - Rooves Bridge DG and Coachford DS
1957 If Four Walls Told. (Children not admitted)
1964 Anyone could Rob a Bank.
1969 Swan Song.
1971 Playboy of the Western World.

Not counting Fr Buckley's pantomimes, they deserve separate notice
